Basic Classes
Fundamentals of Fusing   -   $95
Learn the basics of glass fusing and make two 4” square fused glass tiles.   This hands on class will introduce
students to basic fusing techniques, glass cutting, kiln operation and material selection.  Find out what “frit”,
“noodles”, and “stringers”, are all about and use them to create little works of art that you can use as tiles,
coasters or wall art.  Turn your tiles into a clock, a vase, or a dish for an additional $6.  This class provides the
basic skills to allow you to go on to create jewelry, bowls, trays, clocks and other fused glass pieces.  This class
is a prerequisite for most of our other fusing classes.  Bring a friend and experience the beauty and fun of
fused glass.  Course fee includes all tools and materials for two 4”x 4” tiles.  Bring a design that will fit into a 4"
tile. Projects may be picked up a week after class.  Meets one time for 3.5 hours.

The possibilities are endless in this class!  Showcase this stunning piece on your mantle, coffee table
or bookcase. This is a fun class using the Morton Portable Glass Shop (bring to class) to create a
delicate one of a kind bowl.  We will teach the technique of making this intricate shape then fuse it and
drape.   Students need to bring prepared mold to class and 1 sq foot of fusible glass.  Students who
purchase mold during class will receive a 15% discount.  Cutting experience is necessary so bring your
tools.
The technique of fusing with tone-on-tone color is an elegant way to create glass art with a
refined style.  For class, we will all make the cheerful sunflower bowl.  Once you learn these
techniques, you can branch out to other colors and designs to achieve this subtle "silhouette"
and be able to create masterworks that you will be proud to call your own.  Students to
purchase their glass and bring cutting tools.  No experience necessary.
